System Overview SteriDrain™ hygienic drainage products are engineered for food processing, healthcare, laboratory, and other sanitary environments where cleanability, chemical resistance, and durability are critical. The product family includes: • Trench Drains • Floor Drains • Hub Drains • Cleanouts • Floor Sinks These products are constructed primarily from stainless steel, with some congurations utilizing berglass or polymer concrete where appropriate. All systems are sloped for ecient drainage and designed to meet or exceed sanitary and operational standards.3. Operating Procedures SteriDrain systems are passive drainage products with no moving components. Their function relies on proper installation and routine maintenance. End users are responsible for regular inspections and cleaning to maintain hygienic conditions.4. Inspection Guidelines i. Stainless Steel or Fiberglass Frames • Inspect for signs of corrosion, separation, or distortion. • Conrm anchoring remains secure and level with nished ooring.• Check welds and connections for integrity. ii. Stainless Steel, Fiberglass, or Polymer Concrete Body • Remove grates or covers to inspect channels or bodies for cracks, chemical degradation, or residue buildup. • Ensure slopes are intact and joints are sealed properly. • Look for any deterioration that may impact ow or sanitation. iii. Sanitary Grates • Examine for structural wear, clogging, or improper seating. • Check that all fasteners or lockdowns are present and secure. • Remove and clean regularly to prevent microbial growth. 2 of 3 770-505-6575info@eric-sons.comwww.duratrench.comSTERIDRAIN A HYGIENIC DRAINAGE SYSTEMS OPERATION & MAINTENANCE MANUAL
iv. Outlet Connections • Ensure tight connections to plumbing infrastructure. • Flush outlets periodically to verify unobstructed ow. v. Gasketed or Sealed Joints • Inspect any gaskets or sealed transitions for cracking, dry rot, or leaks. • Replace compromised seals immediately using food-safe, chemical-resistant materials. vi. Floor Drains, Hub Drains, Cleanouts, and Floor Sinks • Check strainers, baskets, and domes for clogging or missing components. • Clean any sediment or waste buildup.• For cleanouts, ensure caps are intact and threads are clean. • Inspect waterproong interfaces and ashing where applicable. 5. Maintenance i. Routine Cleaning • Use non-abrasive, stainless-compatible detergents. • Remove all grates or access covers prior to cleaning. • Pressure wash or foam clean trench and oor components. • Clean oor sink baskets and oor drain strainers thoroughly. • Sanitize and reinstall grates or covers once dry.ii. Chemical Resistance & Disinfection • Verify cleaner compatibility with stainless steel, berglass, or polymer concrete materials. • Avoid harsh acids or bases that may compromise surface nishes. • Use NSF-certied or food-grade sanitizing agents. iii. Seal Maintenance • Reseal any failed joints using appropriate chemical-resistant and food-safe materials. • Clean joints thoroughly before resealing. Follow manufacturer application instructions for the best results.6. Repairs In case of structural damage, corrosion, or compromised seal integrity, contact Eric’sons Inc. for assessment and repair.
